Premiers' Reading Challenge

At the start of this term we launched the Victorian Premiers' Reading Challenge at Kurunjang Secondary College. It is great to see students participating, selecting challenge books and adding books to their PRC account.

The Premiers' Reading Challenge requires students to read a set number of challenge and own choice books in order to complete the challenge. 

To participate, students need to collect their PRC login from Library Staff. Students need to select challenge and own choice books (Library Staff are available to assist students with finding Challenge books.

Students who complete the challenge will get a signed Certificate from the current and former Victorian Premiers', as well as a PRC badge. We will also have a prize draw for five $20 Scholastic Book Club Vouchers.

Overdue Library Books

Students are reminded to return or re-borrow overdue Library books. 

Weekly reminders are sent out to student emails.

At the end of each term we send a reminder SMS home to families for overdue books.

Sometimes we send letters home to families for books that are long overdue. Please encourage students to check at home or in their locker for overdue books.

If a book is missing or damaged, students need to come to the library and speak to library staff so that we can update our borrowing records.

New Books

Students are loving the new books in the library this term. Our library collection is Student-Driven. What this means is that we encourage students to participate in book purchasing and suggestions, including our Book Suggestion Box, as well as asking students to help us choose books from supplier tubs.
