Assemblies Return

On Thursday 26 May, Room 1 performed an assembly (put together in record time) displaying some content taught in Civics and Citizenship this term. I would like to commend all students from Room 1 for their dedication and maturity in pulling this together. COVID has hit our class hard this term, yet this hasn't stopped this amazing group of students working together and performing fabulously! Thanks to the parents also, for getting their children ready and coming into the classroom afterwards to see the work they have been doing this semester. It was great to be able to welcome you in 🙂

Room 3 - Year 5/6

This term, Room 3 has been busy looking at Australia's political system.

We created trioramas detailing the different responsibilities of the different levels of government and tracked the path of a bill as it becomes a law. The students of Room 3 are very well versed in our preferential voting system, having already voted for their student leaders. We have also looked at the various political parties at the Federal Election and thought about what we personally hold important when it comes to our time to vote.

E-Safety with the E-Safety Commissioner

With many of our students currently off with COVID at the moment, it is timely to remind you of the eSaftey Commissioner website. The website aims at empowering all Australians in being safe when using electronic devices.

There is a page dedicated to children. Screen time at home may have increased with students being unwell, so we encourage parents to discuss being safe when at home.

https://www.esafety.gov.au/kids is the page to go to for students to navigate. We suggest that parents of our little people go through it with their children. Some of our older people might want to look through themselves.

This is the page you will see if you access the page.

Have fun in exploring how you can all be safer online.
