Year 10 Enterprise Skills
Latrobe University Educational Partnerships Program
Held on Monday 02/05/2022 in the LNSC Library
The Latrobe University Educational Partnerships team joined our students at Lalor North Secondary to get them ready for the upcoming Work Experience program.
The essential skill they focussed on was communication. Communication is one of the major employability skills, and a skill that students, due to our Covid lockdowns, are needing to practise.
Willow and her team guided the students through activities requiring discussion between classmates, to solve challenges.
· The first one was the ‘No Hands Cup Stacking Challenge’
· The second one was the ‘Back-to-Back Communication Challenge’
· The third one was ‘Creative Town’. They had to create the largest structure they could using a pack of playing cards
Our Year 10s energetically worked in their table groups solving the problems at hand.
And well, have a look at the creations! It seems they must have sharpened their communications skills to produce such thoughtful formations.
Thank you, Willow, and team. We love having Latrobe University at Lalor North Secondary College hosting their engaging and educational programs. We feel connected to our community and supported educationally when transitioning our students to further education.
Please look at the next article to see some of our students at their Work Experience placements.
