Our ‘Around the World’ Fete needs you!

Planning is well underway for our ‘Around the World’ school fete, which will be held on  Friday 4 November from 4-8 pm on the school grounds.  The fete is a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community, have a lot of fun, and raise valuable funds for our school.  There will be rides, games, food stalls, a silent auction, musical and dance entertainment, plus much, much more.

The ‘Around the World’ theme provides a brilliant opportunity to showcase the many cultures and backgrounds that make up our wonderfully diverse school community.  We invite you to bring your ideas, skills, and connections to shape our fete.   There are lots of different ways that you can be involved, and every contribution is very welcome and appreciated.  

Food

Our recently formed Food Sub-Committee will meet soon with members who are connected to our Indian, Japanese, Chinese, European, and African communities. We can’t wait to see what delicious food will be on offer at the fete.  If you own or are connected to a food/drink business, or are a passionate home cook, we want to hear from you!

Rides

Work is also underway to determine the rides that will provide hours of entertainment for our kids… and some of the adults.  A wonderful NMPS family has taken this on this important investigative task and recent dinner conversations in that home have revolved around the merits of the eliminator, big slide, chair-o-plane, and petting zoo.  Watch this space and all will be revealed in due course!

While we’ve made a great start, there’s still plenty left to do and we invite you to grasp this wonderful opportunity to join with like-minded people and be part of the team working towards the success of our fete this year.

The fete is coordinated by the NMPS Parents and Friends Association and our next meeting will be held in ‘The Aquarium’ next to the school office on Tuesday 7 June at 7.30 pm.  All are welcome.  You can also always get in touch with questions, ideas, and offers of assistance at community@nmps.fun.
