SPC Winter Sleep Out

The SPC Annual Winter Sleep Out will take place on Friday 22 July. Students and staff will sleep overnight at the College and experience some of what it might be like to sleep rough. All details for the event can be found in the hard copy documentation that can be collected by students from my office at the College from lunch tomorrow.

There will be a limit of 25 places per year group from Year 5 to Year 12 (if not all places are filled, they can be taken by boys from other year groups). Notes can only be handed in from Tuesday 21 June (the last week of term) – it will be a first in, first served basis. They will be handed to me on the Hickey building balcony from the start of Recess.

We invite participants to raise funds for homelessness through sponsorship, but this is not compulsory. Participation in the Winter Sleep Out earns five SOL Service points, but more importantly for all it is an exercise in empathy and solidarity.

Ignite Conference 2022

The Moment is the title for the Ignite National Catholic Conference for young people which is taking place at Freeman Catholic College, Bonnyrigg from 29 September to 2 October. The conference includes faith, formation, and worship. “Ignite Conference is a bold vision for the future of the Church. A Church passionate about discovering a real, present God and gathering a generation to be on fire for Jesus.” To find out more, go to www.igniteconference.com.au. It is for teenagers and young adults. Groups of 10 or more people can get a group package. This is not being organised by the College so it up to individuals to register if they are interested.

Adult Papua New Guinea Immersion

This is the final call for Old Boys or parents/carers who may be interested in an Adult Immersion to Papua New Guinea from 26 September to 3 October. Places are limited and the cost will be approximately $3,000.
