Deputy Principal

Last week, I spent some time immersing myself in the broader EREA community. On Monday, I visited Parade College, one of our sister schools in Melbourne. I was fortunate to spend time with the Assistant Principal Student Wellbeing, Sarah Pyle. We spent our time discussing the similarities and differences between our school structures and we both took away ideas from each other that we would like to explore over the next two years. This is likely to see us continue to grow and learn off each other which is a testament to the value of the broader EREA community.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, I attended the EREA Senior Leaders Induction course, at the Catholic Leadership Centre in Richmond. Forty senior leaders from EREA schools and flexi schools met to learn more about the foundations of EREA and the direction we are going to moving forward. It was a chance for me to meet the EREA National Executive.

The highlight for me had to be the launch of the EREA Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan, which coincided with National Reconciliation Week 2022 “Be Brave Make Change”. I encourage everyone to have a look at the commitment EREA is making to move forward with reconciliation by clicking here. It is up to all of us to make a commitment to make a change for better outcomes for a First Nations peoples, to ensure we are a stronger community into the future.
