UPDATED COVID Procedures

I urge all parents to ensure that they have read the letter sent out via email by Sr. Mary on Thursday 19 May. It reminds us of all of some of the processes in place with regards to COVID-19, as well as some changes to Rapid Antigen Testing requirements. Thank you to all in the Academy community for continuing to follow all procedures and directions published.

CYBER SAFETY – Susan McLean

Mr David Molino, Director of Sport, organized Ms Susan McLean to address all Year 7 & 9 students during the day on Monday 9 May, and parents on Monday evening. Susan focused on being safe online and the sessions were very engaging, thought provoking, and at times, quite scary with regards to exactly what is out in the cyber world. Given the importance of the information presented, Susan will return once again in 2022 to address the Year 7 & 9 students and parents. For those of you who have a Facebook account, you can follow Susan at ‘Susan McLean – Cyber Safety Expert’ or access her website where you can find a wealth of invaluable and important information.

UNIFORM

While most of the students have been wearing the winter uniform as expected, there are still a number of students who need to remember the following:

  • there should only be one earring in each lobe of the ear
  • there should be no other piercings visible
  • dress length should be at mid-knee length or longer (students are asked not to roll up their skirts at the waist)
  • socks are not to be worn over tights

I would ask parents to have conversations with their daughters about the above and to always encourage your daughters to look their very best. Thank you to all in the community for continuing to embrace the wearing of navy tights or pants as part of the winter uniform. A reminder that if a student has a medical condition that prevents them from wearing tights, a doctor’s letter is required.

Further to the above, parents are advised that there will be a ‘uniform blitz’ in the coming weeks where sanctions will be issued for students who do not meet the College uniform expectations. These sanctions will range from detentions being issued, to students being sent home.  We thank you for your support with the above.

As always, please remember never hesitate to be in touch should you have any queries or concerns.
