New Staff in Languages Department

This year, we are very excited to welcome three new staff to the Languages Domain.  

Ms Vaishali Kentish is rejoining Nossal High school to teach French. As an experienced language teacher, she is keen to share her knowledge and skills and we greatly appreciate the enthusiasm and passion that she brings to our Domain. Ms Kentish will teach mostly at Year 9 level this year.  

Ms Sumiyo Kamimura joins the team as our new Japanese Teacher. Ms Kamimura has many years of teaching experience and will teach Japanese across all year levels. She is excited to join the Nossal community and involve students of Japanese in many language and cultural experiences.  

We are also very fortunate to receive a Japanese Language Assistant this year, Ms Kaori Teramoto.  Kaori will work with students of all year levels to develop oral language skills and assist classroom teachers with cultural activities. We look forward to having her join our Domain two days per week for the year. Kaori has written a short letter of introduction below:  

Konnichi wa! I am Kaori Teramoto. I am the new Japanese Language Assistant at Nossal. Previously, I have been tutoring Japanese for the last 10 years with a focus on V.C.E. students. I have worked closely with students from both culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. My own children are bilingual, speaking both English and Japanese. At Nossal, I wish to assist the Japanese teachers to engage students in their Japanese language acquisition. My aim is to have all students value their language education and in turn become passionate language learners for life. I’m looking forward to working with the whole Nossal community. 

 In anticipation of a year filled with lots of language learning and fun activities.
