PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

Lindy Burke

Thank you to our students, staff, parents and carers for your continued support in implementing the COVID safe practices this term and especially for continuing to undertake the Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) over the last few weeks.  We were notified yesterday by the  Department that the RAT testing initiative will continue for the remainder of this term. I know that this can be a challenging task for some children, but if you can all please persist and continue to test twice a week for the remainder of the term, it will only help support our school community staying well and COVID free. The next delivery of RATs should arrive next week and we will again, send them home later in the week with your child/ren.

Please be aware that vomiting appears to be a symptom displayed by some students who have tested positive to COVID. A runny nose and sore throat are other common symptoms that have been reported to us. Just a reminder that if your child is presenting with any COVID like symptoms, please keep them at home, even if they have returned a negative RAT result. The Health department has advised that it can take up to 48 hours for a positive result. Again, thank you for your continued support with this.

We are now calling for nominations for parents to join our school council. Our school council meets once per month, most of these have been conducted remotely using Webex. If you are interested in joining our school council, please contact the office for a nomination form, complete and sign and either return it to school or email it to echucaeastps@education.vic.gov.au by 4pm on Friday the 25th February. The timetable for this process is below for your reference.
