Term 4 overview

Outlined here is the program for our specialist classes for Year 3 Term 4.

Health and Physical Education

This semester in Physical Education the Year Three students will be building their skills in the sports of Australian rules football, lacrosse, t-ball, baseball, skills tests and dodging sports. Within Health, students will identify and practise strategies to promote health, safety and wellbeing.

Visual Arts

This term Year 3 and 4 students will look at the process of making threads and textiles to create woven fabrics. They will produce a ‘God’s Eye’ woven craft piece and a small Christmas craft ornament.

Performing Arts

This term Year 3 students will continue to perform melodies with accompaniments on tuned and untuned percussion, including xylophones and Boomwhackers. Drama will continue to be explored through improvisation and using drama from other cultures to inspire performances. They will learn the Music: Count Us In song and Christmas Carol.

Chinese

Year 3 students are developing a further understanding of Chinese writing, oral communication and an appreciation of Chinese culture. Students learn about greetings, counting, weather, natural disasters, Australian geography and Christmas celebrations. They participate in songs, games, chants and a range of cultural activities. Students study the Chinese Pinyin phonic system and experiment with digital media.
