Year 8 Girls GWR Netball

The Year 8 Girls Netball team competed in the Greater Western Region Netball in Ballarat on Tuesday. They were extremely competitive on the day, losing to the overall winners by only 6 points. They made it to the semi-final, but unfortunately lost by 2 points. Well done to the girls, led by their captain Meg Carlin.

Year 7 Boys GWR Football

On Tuesday 16th July, our Year 7 football team played in the greater western region football championships. In cold, windy and wet conditions out at Ballarat High School, our students demonstrated great resilience and persistence in their efforts. All our leaders worked hard across the 3 games; Jesse Suter, Jaiden Wells, Archie Parsons, Wil Rantall, Ryan Lucas and Jyah Chatfield role modelled a terrific attitude and effort. Our 3 Year 10 Assistant Coaches put in a huge effort across the day as well; Matthew Bradley, Lochie Worden and Rhys Buck further encouraged, supported and role modelled these values to our Year 7 group.

Numerous students excelled across the matches. For detailed match results, best players and goal kickers see below – along with a few photos from the day.

Well done to all players and Year 10 coaches on your efforts and your commitment in the lead up to this contest. While we got close on the day against some high quality opponents, we did not qualify for the next round of competition. The boys maintained great sportsmanship and mutual respect, even in the face of defeat. For this quality, I and Warrnambool College are tremendously proud of you.

Well done.
