Principal's Message

Term 1 Week 8 2022

Curriculum Day

I hope all of our families were able to take some time out to enjoy the long weekend. Staff enjoyed an engaging day with Rob Vingerhoets a Mathematics Consultant. We learnt about the power of key words, lots of engaging and challenging games to connect students to Mathematics and different ways to plan and cover the curriculum. I hope you caught us on Instagram ordering a range of different types of numbers and justifying our decisions as just one of the activities.

A message from the Student Representative Council:

Our Junior SRC Representatives are working on their first project for the year – a seed collection for our school garden! While we are looking for seasonal vegetables to plant straight away, we are also asking for any other vegetable or flower seeds that we can use throughout the year. We are also interested in setting up a small greenhouse to help nurture our seedlings before planting. If you have anything that might be suitable and you are not using it anymore please reach out! There is a seed donation box in the office ready to make collections.

Thank you,

Ella Gasowski and the Junior SRCs.

Harmony Week 'We all belong'

Harmony Week (Monday 21st - Sunday 27th March) celebrates Australia’s cultural diversity. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone. We will be celebrating our own Harmony Day on Friday 25th March where students will participate in activities and be encouraged to dress up in either traditional clothing of the culture they identify with or colours of their flag. Whitehorse Council will also be celebrating Harmony Week with a concert held at Strathdon House and orchard Precinct in Forest Hill on Sunday March 20th.
