Our Community

Surf Club Growth

The Albany Surf Lifesaving Club has experienced rapid growth over the last few years. I was delighted to present the club with a cheque for $704,000 from Lotterywest to go towards an expansion of club facilities and training to enable safe operational responses to emergency call outs.

Delivering Election Commitments

This season, we celebrate our one-year anniversary as your local members, and the five-year anniversary of the McGowan government. Here's what we have achieved together for Albany.

WA Schools Health Funding Grants

Grants of up to $5,000 are available for schools to implement activities that encourage healthy behaviours and educate students, parents, and the wider community about healthy habits

Through Healthway's Healthy Schools Programme, schools can apply for funding to help them develop projects that promote healthy behaviours, such as community gardens where children can learn about healthy eating.

Applications are encouraged from schools with students representing Aboriginal children and young people, regional and remote locations, and others experiencing disadvantage.

The Healthy Schools Programme guidelines and application form, and a supporting toolkit, are available on the Healthway website.

Applications for this round close at 5pm on Wednesday April 27, 2022.
