Completing VCE or VCAL over the last 2 years was challenging to say the least, but the Class of 2021 have shown just how resilient they are with some really outstanding results, despite the additional barriers and difficulties presented by studying during a global pandemic.

Congratulations to each and every one of the Class of 2021. You did it! Of the students who wished to go on to further study, 63% are now studying at University and 37% are studying at TAFE.

The changing nature of the tertiary sector also now allows students to complete one year of TAFE and then move directly into the second year of a matched Bachelor Degree. This means that the lines between TAFE and University are becoming increasingly more fluid and increase the opportunities for students to gain a University degree.

Tertiary Destinations

The graph below shows where our students have headed off to study. The darker blue represents TAFE and the lighter blue represents University. As you can see, RMIT is again the most popular destination. This is due to their range of courses on offer, as well as their highly accessible pathways through a one-year diploma, which then allows students to move into the second year of a degree in the same study area. We also partner with them on the SNAP (Schools Network Access Program) which offers ATAR discounts up to 20 points. Monash and Melbourne Universities also offer access programs which discount the entry ATAR for our students.

Other Destinations

There are many ways to follow your dreams and achieve success. Here are some examples of students who chose a pathway through an apprenticeship, employment or traineeship.

8 students are completing an apprenticeship in a range of industries, including Automotive, Electrical, Building and Childcare.

18 students have chosen to work full time in industries such as Real Estate, Retail, Hospitality, Logistics and Business Management.
