What's going on in STEM?

2022 is the first year of Dandenong High School's Design Engineering Academy, a specialist pathway for student who are passionate about the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

This term, students have studied advanced manufacturing, data science and worked with scientists and engineers to explore the global challenge of climate change. In preparation for their major project next term, students have developed skills in emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning.

We look forward to seeing how they apply their skills to address the challenge of climate change!

The STEM Centre has acquired an industry standard Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machine capable of milling, drilling and routing out wood and aluminium in 3D.

The skills achieved on this smaller machine can translate to much larger industrial size systems. This adds to our current capacity of 3D printing, laser cutting and vacuum forming equipment.
