Around the Traps - 2/3C

Josh Carr

2/3 C has been doing great work in all areas this week, here is a little run down of what we have been up to.

Maths

Our focus has been on Time working on using the language of ‘past’ and ‘to’.  Students have been increasing their awareness and confidence in working with clocks and have become very clockwise.

Literacy

In writing lessons, we are working on writing interesting sentences in our stories to show not tell readers what is happening. For example, a telling sentence was “Mr. Carr was angry”. Jackson had some fun turning this telling sentence into a showing sentence “Mr. Carr clenched his fists. His eyebrows went down and his teeth were like an angry dog”.

In reading this week we are also identifying describing words in the books we read that enhance visualization.

RE (Religion)

This week students have been given the opportunity to discover ways to use their gifts and talents to serve others during Lent as a preparation for Easter.

We have also been looking at Caritas and Project Compassion stories from all around the world seeing the great work they do and how they help people in hard times.
