Come and Visit!

We are hosting a range of events over the next 4 weeks to invite families in to our school. We know that many parents are looking forward to seeing their child's classroom - meeting their child's teacher - and looking at the learning their child has been doing this term. So - we have events for each stage - as well as some whole school events - as we transition back to a new normal.

Stay tuned for special invitations to...

Kindy Story-time!

Thursday 17 March 2:15-3pm. Come along and participate in the Kindy rooms. Listen to a story with your child - then do a craft activity to take home. See the teacher and what learning looks like in Kindy.

Stage 1 Film Festival!

Monday 14 March 2:20-3pm. Come and visit the Year 1/2 classrooms. Watch the short films students have made and hear about the wonders of the Stage 1 classrooms.

Stage 2 Classroom Visit!

Friday 18 March 12 - 1:30pm. Come and visit the 3/4 classrooms - see what your child has been learning; look at their books, the learning environment and meet the teacher. Share a BBQ sausage sizzle with your child as a picnic lunch.

Stage 3 Classroom Visit!

Friday 25 March 12 - 1:30pm. Come and visit the 5/6 classrooms - see what your child has been learning; look at their books, the learning environment and meet the teacher. Share a BBQ sausage sizzle with your child as a picnic lunch.

Harmony Day Assembly

Monday 21 March is Harmony Day. We are inviting our whole school community to come together to celebrate at our Monday morning assembly at the Hall. Students can wear orange clothes and bring a gold coin donation. Supported by our P&C and SRC as a fund-raising activity. Learning activities during that week will focus on Harmony and anti-bullying.

Granville Family Fair

Saturday 26 March 10am-5pm. GEPS is hosting this pre-Ramadan event. We are proud to support this local community event and hope the weather holds out to have stalls, rides, food, activities and much more. Stay tuned.

Celebration Assembly

Monday 4 April 9:15am. This is our end of term assembly where we give 5 awards per class and recognise students receiving a Gold Badge. We invite the whole community to attend and celebrate with us.

Easter Hat Parade

Friday 8 April 9am (last day of term). Our P&C are organising this event as a fun gathering of our whole school community. Students will parade around in a fun hat and we usually have a huge raffle of chocolate goodies.

We hope that these events provide families with some access to teachers; your child's learning; community-bonding and also add to a sense of belonging. At GEPS, we have learned that we don't have to be all together to have a strong send of community. We hope that these events start to build back some face-to-face time.

For the rest of the term we will continue to greet students each morning at the gates and to escort students to you at the end of each day.

We are exploring the option of a weekly coffee-cart for parents and will look at further options next term at the end of Ramadan. Thank you to all parents who have supported their child's independence and resilience in the transition to school this year.

Senior Choir students have also been practising hard for their Big Performance next week. 11 students (with Ms Ward and Miss Yag) will be performing at Pulse Alive - a combined school performance evening at Homebush stadium. This event was postponed last year, due to Covid, and is finally going ahead next Tuesday 15 March. We are so proud of these students!
