Barista TAFE Course
On Friday 20 September 2019, 10 students from our Special Education Unit attended a Barista course at Ourimbah Campus. We thank the Bellbirds and Soroptimist International for funding our students, we really appreciate their support.
Our students had a great day learning how to make Espresso, Long Black, Cappuccino, Latte, Mocha, Ice Coffee, Ice Chocolate, Smoothies & Milkshakes. They also enjoyed tasting the results.
From this day our students will gain a TAFE Certificate which will enhance their resumes. The students will practice their skills in our weekly Coffee Shop.

Northcott Athletics Carnival
On Wednesday 28 September, 10 of our students travelled down to Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre to compete in the Northcott Athletics carnival. It was a very busy day competing in Track events ranging from 100m and 200m sprints to bean bag races and relays. They also competed in field events including long jump, and discus plus obstacle courses for our wheel chair participants. A great day was had by all with many ribbons won by our very talented students. Thanks to Mrs Bath and Mrs Koltsis for all their help and hard work running around on the day.
Tumbi Disco
On Wednesday 18 September, 25 of our students attended the Tumbi Umbi Secondary College combined schools disco. Our students had a fantastic time and all looked amazing in their Fluro/High Vis attire. They all danced up a storm with their fabulous moves while catching up with friends from other schools. If the students were exhausted from all their dancing there were plenty of other fun activities to be had with photo booths, face painting and balloon art. A BBQ was provided at the end of the disco with plenty of sausage sandwiches had by all. Another great disco held by Tumbi . Thank you to all the teachers and support staff that came and helped on the day. Thanks also, go to Mr Secomb for volunteering his time to drive our students to and from the disco.
Felting
During Term 3 our Textile classes in the Special Education Unit have learnt how to felt (turning fibres into fabric). We were extremely lucky to have a fabulous volunteer come & assist us. Debbie Mullins came in for 4 weeks supporting staff & students & we really appreciate her expertise & her time.
Our students produced many felted items, culminating in a magnificent wall hanging in E4. All the students & staff are very proud of their results.
