Kindergarten

Growth and change

This week in Kinder we are continuing to celebrate the wonder of food chains and life-cycles. We are excited to be receiving our very own caterpillars next week in kinder, which we will enjoy watching hatch into butterflies over the course of a few weeks.  The butterflies will then be set free.  The children are also enjoying watching the growth and change on our mulberry bush in the playground, whilst hunting for millipedes.

Reading Charlotte's Web continues to be a favourite class activity each day.  This beautiful story has given staff the perfect platform to learn about omnivores, carnivores and herbivores.  Discovering how spiders catch their prey and the importance of bees as pollinators.

Our preparation for school for the older children also continues with lots of opportunities for news time sharing in front of the class to develop greater self confidence expressing and sharing of ideas, writing letters to friends and family, and constructing plans and maps of the school playground.
