Assistant Principal

Wellbeing and Learning Support

Autism Inclusion Teacher

The Department for Education has appointed an Autism Inclusion Teacher (AIT) in every public primary school (including reception to year 12 schools) from 2023.

The Autism Inclusion Teacher will:

  • provide support to fellow educators on how to best support and educate autistic students
  • drive improved practice relating to autism that works for our school.

To improve knowledge and practice across the school, Autism Inclusion Teachers will first build their own teaching expertise, knowledge and understanding of autism through engaging in formal learning offerings and participation in the Autism Inclusion Teacher networks.

AITs will then be encouraged to share their learnings and resources with their colleagues to utilise in teaching autistic children and young people in their own classes.

I am excited to announce that I will be undertaking the role at LNPS alongside my existing learning support role.

Please visit the Department for Education website to find out more about improving support for autistic children and students.

Student Ambassadors

Student Voice

At LNPS we encourage our learners to be the leaders of  the future. Student voice enables our school to support students to develop their leadership skills.

Last year, students in years 3-6 who nominated to become Student Ambassadors took part in a   a merit selection process. Through this process, two students were selected from each class to represent their peers.

This year, students who are in years 3-6 have had the same opportunity to apply to become a Student Ambassador. The nomination process requires students to write against success criteria that is aligned to our school values of: RESPECT, CARE & CONCERN, HONESTY and the PURSUIT of EXCELLENCE

Please see the success criteria attached below:

Students in years 3-6 have need to submit their applications by the end of the day on Friday 24/2 in order to have their nomination considered.

Two students from each class in years R-2 will be nominated by their classroom teachers; they will not need to go through an application process. Students who are nominated will need to exemplify all four of our school values every day in all aspects of school life.

I look forward to announcing our 2023 Student Ambassadors in due course this term!
