Shrove Tuesday

This week we joyfully celebrated Shrove Tuesday coming together as a school community, families, students, staff and Parish with a pancake breakfast. It was wonderful to see so many in attendance and we feel deep gratitude that we are now able to provide opportunities to come together after the impact of co-vid.

Ash Wednesday

On Wednesday we met in Heart Learning houses to celebrate a special Ash Wednesday liturgy.

In our Catholic school context, each class has also started to talk about the Season of Lent and what this means in anticipation of Easter.

Project Compassion

At the end of the Ash Wednesday liturgy, each student was issued with a Project Compassion money box, if you have any loose coins please put these into the boxes and return theses boxes in week 11 (the week after Easter) The House groups will be organising an Easter celebration where the students will receive tokens for their boxes and take part in different events ‘spending’ their tokens. All the money raised will then go to Project Compassion.

Project Compassion brings communities together in solidarity with the world’s poor to actively address poverty, promote justice and uphold dignity.

Over the coming weeks, in RE and in Heart Learning, the students will be exploring Caritas Australia’s Project Compassion to connect with a global and ongoing demonstration of faith, love and generosity, all in the name of justice and peace.

Yours in Love, Peace and Learning
