NAPLAN 2023 (National Assessment Program- Literacy and Numeracy)

Did you know NAPLAN is moving to March this year? Our Year 3 and 5 students will be sitting their assessments during Week 7 and 8 this term. To prepare for the assessments, our students will sit the NAPLAN practice test on Tuesday February 28th, as well as completing activities in class.

Since 2022, except for Year 3 writing which remains paper-based, all other NAPLAN tests are completed online. The NAPLAN assessments are linked to the Australian Curriculum and the aim is to determine whether students are developing basic literacy and numeracy skills. It is important to understand that this is only one form of assessment that is used to gather data about your child’s development of literacy and numeracy skills. At St Brigid’s School, we use a variety of ongoing assessment and reporting processes that are used to inform our teaching and support student learning.

Earlier this week, you should have received a hardcopy of the NAPLAN privacy collection notice. Please read the information and let me know if you have any questions.”

Yours in Love, Peace and Learning
