ACC ATHLETICS AND EVENTS CANCELLED FOR TERM 1

As per Education Department advice to school sporting organisations the ACC has cancelled all events for the remainder of term 1. Unfortunately the consequences are we will not get the chance to play ACC Grand Finals this week and the ACC Athletics has been cancelled as it is an event of more than 500 people. The ACC is looking at the possibility of rescheduling the vent in term 3. The ACC Executive Principals are meeting this week to discuss the impact for term 2 sport as well. Once details are released I will inform students. All teams playing off in grand Finals this week will be awarded dual premiers. Therefore Congratulations to our Volleyball A and B teams and to our Senior Cricket team on their achievements.

ACC LAWN BOWLS CHAMPIONS

Last Wednesday afternoon our Lawn Bowls team went off to Kew Bowling Club to try and win back to back ACC Pennants. Under the watchful eye of the bowling guru himself from Brighton, golden arm Mr Maurice Lee. The boys have trained for the past 3 weeks and this time spent was of great confidence when the games came down to the wire. Managing to make our way to the final against a determined St Bernard’s the boys held their nerve and won on the last bowl of the day! Being crowned ACC Champions for the second year in a row is a fantastic achievement and now qualifies us for the State championships later in the year. Congratulations to; Matthew Girolami, Matthew Hettiarachchi , Thomas Yong , Ronan Fernandez  and Vuk Vukovic all from Year 12.

ACC SWIMMERS BREAKFAST- Cancelled

With the uncertainty going around at the moment we have decided to postpone the ACC Breakfast to a later date. It is unfortunately but I am sure you all understand. I will let all swimmers involved of the new date as soon as we can arrange a suitable time.

TERM 2 ACC SPORT FIXTURE

As mentioned earlier in the email the ACC Executive are in constant conversation and contact with the relevant government bodies and a decision regards the commencement of term 2 sport will hopefully be made ASAP.  Once a decision is made I will notify students of what the term will look like from an ACC perspective. This will have implications on ACC Football, Soccer, Badminton and Golf days. With governing bodies set to reassess commencement dates until late May it can be safely assumed no Football or Soccer will played in the first weeks of the term.
