Leadership @ Monty

Dear MPS Community,

The staff of MPS would like to wish everyone a safe and happy Christmas. To those families who are leaving us,  we sincerely thank you for the contribution you have made to our school. We also extend our best wishes to our Year 6 students as they move to Secondary School.

During the year the community spirit that characterises our great school has shone through. On many occasions, we have celebrated individual achievements and enjoyed events that have drawn us together. There have also been some difficult times when we have leaned on each other for support. These highs and lows have us reflecting on the importance of family and the value of a close-knit community such as the one here at Monty PS. I am very grateful and proud to lead such a wonderful school.

We wish some of our current staff members all the very best as they take up different opportunities next year. Cody Perkins is taking a year’s leave and we wish him well as he explores the construction industry. Suzi Smith is finishing up with us so she is able to dedicate more time to the family business. Suzi has been an amazing asset in the office and we cannot thank her enough for her work over the last 18 months. Bree Klein has worked tirelessly in the Grade 5/6 area this year and we thank her and wish her all the best as she moves into the role of relief teaching. We wish Rebekah Rentos all the very best as she takes leave to look after a new addition to her family. We will certainly miss Rebekah but look forward to yet another baby at Monty!

We welcome new staff members to the Monty team- Jared Boyle, Matt Lewis, Rachel Tabb and Cara Crawford.  Natasha Niemann will also be joining us in the role of Student Wellbeing and Stacy Austin will be taking on an Education Support role.

Our students have been given the opportunity twice now, to meet with their classmates and their new teachers for 2019. It was great to see so many excited and happy faces at the end of each  day as the children shared the good news of who their teachers and classmates were going to be. It is rewarding for us to see this positive attitude amongst the children as much hard work goes into creating the new classes. I am sure that 2019 will be an exciting and challenging year for all of our students, with record enrolments at MPS.

Our classes celebrated this special time of year today with  a new tradition- a Christmas Chip-Nic! Thank goodness the weather was super kind!

Have a terrific Christmas. Enjoy the break from school lunches and enjoy that lovely, relaxed  time with your children and family.  Stay safe and see you in 2019!
