WEEKLY WRAP

(17 May - 19 May) Round 3

Year 7 Red – Ray McManus (Coach), Ren (Team Manager)

Mazenod Red Lost 20 to Swan View 54

A great effort by the whole team again this week! The development of the squad is evident to see and I believe we actually played a better team game than Swan View. Being only two goals down at ¾ time, I thought we were a strong chance for our first win of the season, but unfortunately we ran out of legs in the final quarter. A win is not too far away for this squad. Be proud of a great team performance!

Year 7 Blue – Michael Ferritto (Coach), Paula (Team Manager)

Mazenod Blue Won 50 to Mazenod White 36

Derby – Blue takes on White in what was expected to be a good close contest. The boys from both sides did not disappoint. Blue kicked the first and only goal for them for the half. White showed Blue how to kick goals - kicking 4 in the first half!  After half time Blue used their clearance ascendancy, changes in the forward line they got reward for effort. Great effort by both sides! Thanks to all of our parent helpers and supporters coming to the game to give the boys help to get over the line.

Year 7 White – Scott Hopkins (Coach), Melissa (Team Manager)

Mazenod White Lost 36 to Mazenod Blue 50

Sunday’s second derby saw another close great match between the boys. The first half we had control with a 4 goals lead but the second half saw Blue come back with quick goals and finish with a win. Fantastic effort by all the boys! Thank you to our parent/family helpers for assistance each week.

Year 8 Blue – Brendan Shanahan (Coach), Annies (Team Manager)

Mazenod Blue Lost 31 to Coolbinia Red 41

Our boys played a cracker game of footy on the weekend. They unfortunately didn’t come away with the win but really came together as a team to hold Coolbinia to only a 10 point win. Can’t wait to see how the next few rounds play out!

Year 8 White – Oscar Buckingham (Coach), Tracey / Josh (Team Managers)

Mazenod White Won 69 to Huntingdale 27

Great hard fought contest!

Year 9 Blue – Adrian Conti (Coach), Gisella (Team Manager)

Mazenod Blue Won 82 to Morley 52

Year 9 White – Mike Mount-Bryson (Coach), Elena (Team Manager)

Mazenod White Won 83 to Huntingdale 19

Really proud of the boys today, not only for the effort but for their ability to stay disciplined in the face of aggression on and off the field.

Year 10 – Jake Bayley (Coach), Donna / Jody (Team Managers)

Mazenod Lost 50 to Upper Swan 53

Year 11 Blue – Shane Lanzon (Coach), Santino (Team Manager)

Mazenod Blue Lost 36 to Kalamunda 70

After a slow start the boys did well to get themselves back into the game. There were some good individual efforts and positive team passages of play throughout the day. The boys will be keen to made a mends next week!

Year 12 White – Will Morris (Coach), John (Team Manager)
