What is the GAT and why is it important?
The General Achievement Test is a test of general knowledge and skills in written communication, mathematics, science and technology, humanities, the arts and social sciences taken by all Victorian students prior to completing their VCE. A students GAT results are used to check that their VCE external assessments and School- based Assessments (SACSS) have been accurately and fairly assessed. The GAT is used in these checks because its results are a good predictor of final assessment for VCE studies and is therefore extremely important.

VETis MUSIC
On Wednesday 5th of May our VETis music students attended a range of performance and sound production workshops at our RTO, Melbourne Polytechnic in Fairfield.
Students gained fantastic knowledge and skills towards their Units of Competency and got to meet like minded students from other schools across Victoria completing their VET and VCE certificates in Music Industry.
It was also a wonderful opportunity for students to see one of their options for further education in action and work with some of their staff.
We are extremely proud of how our students volunteered and embraced the opportunities presented to them on the day. Congratulations.
