Prep/1 AN – Religious Education

This week in Religious Education, we have been learning all about Holy Week. We began this lesson as we do every afternoon, with some whole school meditation. We spent some time discussing what happened on the days that lead up to Easter Sunday. We then watched a moving story detailing all of the events in Jesus’ final week. This brought upon a meaningful discussion about Jesus’ love and sacrifice for his people. We took a deeper look at the meaning behind Holy Week and why we celebrate Easter Sunday. The students made some beautiful connections to the stories they had learned about Jesus. We compared the sacrifices we had made during Lent to the sacrifices Jesus has made for us. The students then created a Holy Week booklet retelling the events of Holy Week.
