Staff Profile

Kathleen Shirer

Hello!

My name is Kathleen Shirer and I am excited to be starting my teaching career this year at Scoresby Secondary College.

Having completed my last teaching placement here at Scoresby in October 2020, I am thrilled to have the opportunity to come back, to catch up with the students, and to see how much they have developed since.

This year at Scoresby I’ll be working across the English and Mathematics departments in a teaching and tutoring role. I’m incredibly enthusiastic to be working in such a great team of colleagues to help our students both catch up as well as be challenged in their learning.

I have recently completed my university studies, having completed a Bachelors in Science and Bachelors in Arts from Monash University, as well more recently a Masters of Teaching from the University of Melbourne. I spent much of my holidays during university travelling, a highlight being several months independently backpacking around Europe. I am an avid believer in the value of lifelong learning, and can always be found reading a book to learn something new about the world, others or myself.

I look forward to spending this next year getting to know the Scoresby community and working with our students to reach their potential.
