On Tuesday our school celebrated the feast of our Patron Saint, St Louis de Montfort. Born in Montfort sur-Meu, in France in 1673, he was the eldest surviving child of 18 children. At the age of 12 he entered the Jesuit college and after that he began his studies in theology and philosophy. He developed a strong devotion to Mary and wrote many notable works regarding Marian Devotions. Pope Pius XII canonized Montfort on July 20 1947.

He is also known as the Patron Saint of public speaking, teaching, education, writers and illness. Louis became a priest and spread the Word of God everywhere that he went. He taught people to love and pray to Mary the mother of Jesus.

St. Louis lived his life to show God’s love to all people.

At Mass we brought forth our school candle and school banner. We also were able to wear casual clothes as a form of celebration and many students enjoyed a special lunch of baguettes (really just a roll) and a juice.

We ask that all the St Louis' community be proud and strive to continue his mission in

the world by supporting those in need and sharing with others his devotion to Mary.
