As part of the Year 9/10 subject On the Move, students have been introduced to understanding the relationship between speed, distance and time. Working as part of an effective team, the class undertook several water-rocket launches on the main oval, measuring the angle of maximum height, and the time to reach this height, while varying the water volume.Â
This introduction to this topic allows the class to discuss optimal conditions for a better launch next lesson, and make the necessary calculations to evaluate their results.Â

At the end of 2021, the Music crew took two bands on a day trip tour of the fabulous facilities of Oxygen College in Geelong.
Oxygen College offers nationally accredited qualifications including Music Performance and Composition, Photography, Sound Production, Video Production, and Visual Arts (painting & drawing).
The students were treated to a tour of the recording studio, the sound production stage, the art gallery and their facilities. But it didn’t end there! The two bands were able to use the recording studio to record their songs, mixed and encouraged by the staff and a current student of the college.
The experience was enormously valuable and served as a focus for preparing their songs, as well as a new and exciting experience of playing in a recording studio.
It was an extremely fun, valuable and enlightening visit that gave our students a glimpse of the broader opportunities that exist in the world of music.
We hope to visit again this year and offer the opportunity to new bands, musicians, and people who are interested in seeing and experiencing what Oxygen College has to offer.
