There are still a number of St Fidelis Primary School Sports uniforms that need to be returned to school. These items include netball dresses, netball singlets, football jumpers, soccer shirts, football and soccer tops, football & soccer boots. Could you ensure all items are returned to school no later than Wednesday 8 December.
The St Fidelis Annual Sports' Day was held on Thursday, 2 December 2021 at St Fidelis Primary School. The day was a hot one but the students were magnificent in their efforts. They are to be congratulated for their wonderful behaviour, personal effort and team spirit on the day.
Thank you to the teachers for their organisation of the students and the games played. Special congratulations to our student sport captains for their leadership of their respective teams. They did a magnificent job!
Also, thank you to the Parents & Friends Association for providing Zooper Doopers to each student. They provided a great thirst quencher after our physical activity.

Final Team Results:
Congratulations to the Mannix (Green) Team on achieving the most points this year. This is the first time since 2014 that they have achieved this success. Also congratulations to our other 3 teams, Daly, MacKillop and Lee. This year was the closest competition that we have seen in years!

Salve a tutti! (Hello everyone!) I hope everyone had un buon weekend and was able to enjoy il bel tempo (the fine weather) with your famiglia.
I would like to start off today by saying a big GRAZIE to the whole school community for participating in last week’s Italian Day. Though it was short notice in organising it, everything came together with 100% success...

Last martedÌ 30 novembre (Tuesday 30th November), the Italian Day proceedings began with signora Watson briefly talking about her father being a soldier in the Italian mountain infantry, called the Alpini. These soldiers' original mission was to protect Italy from its international borders, including France and Austria. She then showed everyone a special hat that he wore during his time as a soldier. This heirloom is very special to signora Watson because not only does it remind her of her father but it also reflects her Italian heritage. This is why we have cultural days, so we can reflect, embrace and enjoy what the Italian culture has brought into our lives here in Australia. I wonder if you have any similar stories, perhaps you could also share these with your family?
Next we had a dress up parade where there was a sea of Italian themed costumes, such as gondolieri, calciatori, Mario characters, pizza, a gelato stall e colori italiani: verde, bianco e rosso. You may have even heard about someone wearing a spaghetti costume!!

Throughout the day, the children participated in various Italian themed activities including an incursion by the Melbourne School of Tarantella, where they learnt how to dance a tarantella as well as learn it’s origins. They also participated in some games such as Tombola and Scopa, craft activities and some grades even watched the Disney Pixar movie ‘Luca’ (Rated G). Everyone was encouraged to bring an Italian themed lunch which complemented the free gelato the school offered at lunchtime… this was greatly appreciated, considering we had such a glorious sunny day as well!

Overall, it was a very successful day had by both the children as well as the teachers. It was nice to see some sort of ‘normality’ back in the school calendar. I hope to have another day like this next year as well!
Grazie again e...
buona settimana e buon lavoro! (Our last full week for 2021)
