Superhero     Ella    29th November

This week Ella is receiving the award for our school values of Care and Respect. It was difficult to narrow it down to two of our school values, as this superhero has the attributes of all of them and shows them daily.

In the classroom, Ella shows respect to all teachers by listening attentively and being engaged in lessons. She contributes to class discussions and works hard to achieve great results by taking on feedback from her teacher. She does this both at school and during remote learning.

Ella is always looking out for her friends by helping them succeed with their learning and looking after them when they are feeling down. She is a very selfless person, who is always considerate of others’ feelings, often making her the peacekeeper between friends (this can be a big role to take on).

She doesn’t only look out for close friends but checks in on and helps all of her peers and teachers as well. Another way she shows respect is by being encouraging and fair to her teammates and opponents when playing her favourite sport (Basketball)!

This Year 6 girl’s friendly nature and respectful behaviour makes her a very important addition to her classroom in Studio 13.

Congratulations Ella and best wishes for her last few weeks of primary school year.

Superhero     Maddison   6th December

Since the beginning of 2021, Maddison has presented all 6 of our school values consistently. However, this award is being given specifically for the values Care, Respect and Responsibility, which she embodies completely.

Maddison is incredibly caring and supportive to her peers, be they close friends or classmates. Her friendly and fun-loving attitude makes this student very approachable, and it is obvious that others feel comfortable around them.

Maddison is respectful to everyone around her. She never calls out or talks over others when they are talking. She is gentle with how she talks to others and always tries to comfort her peers when they are feeling down. Maddison is an incredible support to others in the classroom, acting as guide for her peers when she has developed her understanding of a topic. She’s very respectful when taking on feedback or receiving assistance from staff or her peers and applies it to the best of her ability.

This Superhero has shown how responsible she can be by taking on a role as a Student Council Member and does so with pride, determination, and enthusiasm. Maddison is a student that can be relied on to take whatever job she is doing seriously but knows how and when to have fun.

Maddison always follows our school’s behaviour expectations to a tee and has proven herself to be a fantastic role model as a Prep Buddy.

Studio 11 is extremely proud to have Maddison as part of their class.

Congratulations Maddison, we hope you have a great week!

What a wonderful day we had last Thursday with children exploding with great singing, happiness and colour.  Musicians, MCs, singers and dancers all worked together to create our special performance based on the Taungurung seven seasons. The grand finale with the grade 5-6 brought the show to a wonderful conclusion, celebrating their energy and dedication to the production.

The video is expected to be ready next week and a link will be send via compass.

Managing illness in schools and early childhood - COVID 19

Dear KPS Community

One of the most important things we can do to slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) in our community is to stay at home when we are unwell, even when we have the mildest of symptoms.

What you need to know

Young children with persistent mild symptoms

Younger children (pre-school up to Grade 2) may have prolonged post-viral symptoms such as a runny nose or cough and may return to school following a negative COVID-19 test even if they are not completely free of symptoms. They will need a medical certificate from their GP to confirm they are otherwise well or have recovered from their acute illness.

Any worsening of symptoms will require review and repeat COVID-19 testing, if considered appropriate by the doctor.

Students with a negative COVID-19 test whose symptoms have completely resolved do not need a medical certificate to return to the school.

For further information for schools and to distribute to families see: Managing illness in schools and early childhood services during the COVID-19 pandemic. I have also attached the fact sheet behind this link to this message.

Hats required in Term 4

In line with our Sun Safe policy children are required to wear the school uniform wide brimmed or bucket hats when playing outside in Term 1 and Term 4. Please ensure your child brings their hat to school every day for outside play.

Hats are $11 and available to purchase from our uniform supplier AGS Prints or from the school office.

Happy Families
