‘Christmas acrostic’
Well, here we are nearly at the end of another year. Our minds switch between finishing off 2021, and looking towards Christmas and the holidays. There is so much to do at this time of year. To help you focus on the various aspects of Christmas, as enjoyed by people across the world, here is an acrostic poem for you.
Advent is the latest season
Baby born is the reason
Children love it always
December 25 is the day
Exciting is the atmosphere
Family gathers there and here
Gingerbread cookies are made to eat
Holy night, with stars, a treat
Ice and snow, or hot and dry days
Jesus celebrated in many ways
Kris Kringle adds a lot of fun
Lights ablaze for everyone
Mistletoe is hung and holly too
Nativity scenes are all in view
Ornaments are placed upon the tree
Peace is here for you and me
Quiet as a mouse the night before
Rejoice for all that is in store
Stockings bring joy from special people
Trees adorned with tinsel and baubles
Unwrap your gifts with thanks to all
Vacation time – we’ll have a ball
Wish for, hope for a better future
eXchange gifts and greetings with each other
Yuletide carols we can hear
Zzzzzz …. sweet dreams, as sleep is near.
Fun fact For Kids: About 75% of your brain is made of water
