Year 3 & 4 Circus Crew Excursion

Mrs Smith & Ms Daws

On Tuesday, Ben from The Circus Crew visited the Year 3 and 4 students to teach them about forces. They learned about gravity, friction and air resistance through fun activities and circus tricks.

In the incursion, we learnt about forces, speed, direction, friction and gravity. My favourite part was practising juggling and doing tricks with cool equipment.

Christian (Year 3)

This science incursion was about forces that push and pull. I learned about gravity and that it can pull things down. My favourite bit of the incursion was when we got to juggle with the balls.

Alexis (Year 3)

This incursion was about push and pull forces. My favourite part of the incursion was when we got to investigate ways to flip hula hoops and sticks and when we learned how to move objects with our breath.

Myles (Year 3)

The science incursion was about forces and we learnt how we can use forces in games. I learnt about how gravity is not just pulling things to the floor but the centre of the earth and that gravity can affect different things differently.

Imogen (Year 3)

We learnt about how different solid objects that have different weights will still land at the same time, whereas with pieces of fabric, the air gets trapped inside so it slows down. All of the activities were really fun and I learnt how to hula hoop for a minute.

Freya (Year 4)

The purpose of the incursion was to learn about forces. It was really fun and good to learn about forces through circus tricks.

Cleo (Year 4)

I sincerely liked the incursion. I loved it when we did the hula hoops. I learnt that there is a force called twist and how to juggle with three balls - but only for a few seconds.

Tom H (Year 4)

The purpose of the incursion was to help us learn about different forces like push, pull, gravity and more. I learnt that there were more forces than push and pull. My favourite part was learning how to do tricks on flower sticks.

Hamish (Year 4)
