Safe Parking around School

PARKING AND SAFETY AROUND AROUND ST JOSEPH'S SCHOOL

Stanhope Street has become increasingly dangerous during the peak hours of drop off and pick up. We would like to remind parents and guardians to take extra care when driving around the school.

Please remember, children are at more risk because they are smaller and less visible to drivers. Here are a few things to remember:

  • Do not double park outside school. Double parking forces children onto the roads and obstructs the traffic flow
  • No U-turns or three-point turns in front of the school
  • No stopping across driveways or too close to the pedestrian crossing
  • If you are staying for more than a few minutes, park a few streets away and walk your child to school
  • Parents/ Guardians are not permitted to park in the church carpark.

Road safety is a shared responsibility. It is important that road rules are followed around our school so that the whole community feels safe.
