Arts, Design and Technology Virtual Showcase 2021
December 2021
Welcome to the Virtual Arts, Design and Technology Showcase for 2021. This year we have once again moved the showcase to an online/virtual platform to make the event available to more of the NBC community and to prevent any concerns with social distancing at an onsite event at one of the NBC campuses due to Covid 19.
In recognition of the places in which we would normally meet and enjoy the amazing work of the NBC students we have placed the Wadawurrung Acknowledgement of Country at the entrance to our virtual gallery.
2021 has been one of the most challenging years for the students at Northern Bay but considering all these challenges students have approached remote learning and online classrooms with enthusiasm and determination. We would like to thank and acknowledge the effort of all students at NBC in this very difficult year and pass on our appreciation of the quality and quantity of work created under these circumstances.
In year 10 Viscom students have explored ways to animate their drawings and create short GIFs and advertisements which may be used in a web-based context. This GIF by Indy Mayo was a standout for this task.
In Year 12 Shannon Robins created an animation as part of her final presentation for Media, titled, 'My Little Moon' - My animation follows the story of a grandmother and her granddaughter. The grandmother is Gaia, the Greek Titan who was the personification of the Earth. Eventually, Gaia will pass away and the granddaughter, the little moon, is all alone in an empty house.
It is with great pride that we declare the annual NBC Arts, Design and Technology Showcase open and acknowledge the fantastic work that students have created. Thank you to all the staff that have made this virtual gallery possible and the continued support you have shown students throughout the year.
