Sun smart
This year the sum smart committee has been collaborating and working on issues around the school to do with our sun smart policies and are working on erecting more shade around the school. We have completed a shade audit of the school grounds and haveapplied for a state government grant in order to provide more shaded seating and eating areas around the school grounds. The committee has been involved in the Cancer Councils student leadership program. As part of program we have completed a survey with the students in year 7 to 11. The survey focused on students understanding of UV levels, and their use of sun protective factors including sunscreen, hats, sunglasses and shade. These sun protective factors will be the focus of the committees initiatives in 2020.
