Musicland

A Closing Chord  from Musicland

Term 4 saw Musicland gearing up for one of our biggest productions of the year: Presentation Night. The orchestra was in fine form and played a mix of Classical and modern pieces. The Chinese Ensemble gave a very entertaining performance, as did the Stage Band. The Stage band walked through the audience playing a New Orleans style marching tune, it certainly made a big impact and helped to create a unique flavour to the night.

Q UP, our annual end of year concert, featured a number of smaller ensembles as well as large groups. We had some of our non-music staff participating in various items such as singing in the newly established School Choir and performing with the String orchestra and The Wall of Guitar.

We watched the final round of Kew’s Got Talent and celebrated the many talents on show this year, especially the year 12 bands who put a lot of energy and effort into their performances during the year, participating in all four of these events.

We welcomed our new piano teacher Luke Champion and our singing teacher Susanna Wailes who took up their positions this year and will be continuing in 2020. The Music programme continues to grow and solidify and we all look forward to more music making next year!
