From the principal

I trust that this year you have been able to give your very best, accept new challenges  and  remain positive. We have provided you with a range of opportunities. Some students engage, live in the moment and are self motivated. Others let their chances slip by.

Life is about being the author of your own book, deliberately monitoring and editing every page, every line, and ensuring you have a hand in the way the plot unfolds, the way you influence others and the impact of the characters on you, the protagonist. The ending is not crafted or clear at the outset, not meticulously planned, predetermined, standard or mass produced.

Each of our stories is different. The manner in which we spend our hours fills the lines, the events of our days constitutes the paragraphs, the activities of our months and the achievements of the years provide the material for our chapters. We script the text for our autobiography.

Reflect on the year. Evaluate the pages you have written. Hopefully you can recall proud moments, times when you excelled, new learnings, skills you have developed and the strengths you have identified and utilised.

Prepare for your  next chapter by setting your goals and expectations for the days to come. Recognise the opportunities before you, identify your purpose and intentions. Look forward to the chance to be in awe, to learn and grow, to challenge your thinking, adopt a new perspective, be open to new possibilities, alter your opinions and not be limited by what has already been experienced.

Now, as the year comes to a conclusion, it is not an ending but rather a beginning of serious import. The future is here at your door. Approach it with hope and anticipation.  2020 is fresh start, the commencement of your new life and today is the first day, your next big day, a day to remember. Each day should be an original dawning in some small way, individually significant.  You have one life and you are centre stage in that performance.
