Principal's News
Mr Rodrigues
Dear Families,
Our classrooms and learning spaces are once again filled with the sound of our children learning together in the way we all know it should be. My greeting on Wednesday morning, by so many smiling faces at the Kent street gate, reminded me why being together is so important for a school community. As children ran past me to play or to place their bags in line ready for the start of the day their excitement was obvious. Whilst all students have been back in some part yesterday was the first in a very long time that all year levels, as well as all staff, were back together as one.
As communicated previously, all Catholic School is Melbourne have been issued with a School Operation Guide which is regularly updated and outlines the requirements we must meet to ensure the ongoing compliance of our school. At this time we are still required to minimize the number of visitors and parents inside school buildings and to ensure all those visitors and parents meet current vaccination requirements. I have included an extract from our Acting Executive Director outlining these current regulations.
School Operation Guidelines
From the Acting Executive Director, MACS.
'To further limit the spread of coronavirus in our school communities, the Victorian Government has released COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination Directions (No 6), which impose requirements for operators of primary, secondary or special schools in Victoria in relation to the vaccination of staff, contractors, volunteers and visitors. This basically covers everyone who enters school buildings and any use of school facilities while children are onsite. The Directions require a school employer to take reasonable steps to prevent entry of unvaccinated workers or visitors who are, or may be, scheduled to attend a school. If a school cannot confirm the vaccination status of a worker or visitor to a school site, they are required by the Directions to treat them as unvaccinated and deny permission to enter the school site.'
I greatly appreciate the support of all members of our school community in helping us to manage the requirements placed on us as we manage these final few weeks of the year.
