Junior Hooptime

On Thursday 11th August, forty Year Three and Four students and ten Year Five and Six student coaches headed off to the Nunawading Basketball Stadium for Junior Hooptime Basketball. The five teams had been training hard every recess in the previous weeks with their coaches ready for their big day.

It was a great day with lots of smiles, lots of goals scored, lots of progress made throughout the day, good sportsmanship and teamwork. Our Rowville Primary School players and coaches did us proud!

All the teams experienced success in many ways and it was particularly rewarding to watch our Rookie players enjoy their first basketball competition. A special mention to our Rookies Rowville Rhinos team who were undefeated.

The day for Rowville Primary School had a VERY EXCITING END with our Future Stars 1 Rowville Raptors team qualifying for the finals on percentage! With the rest of the Rowville Primary School teams cheering on loudly, the team rose to the occasion with a great win, and have now qualified for the Region Championships next term. A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to Jasmine, Sebby, Chloe, Harry, Torin, Omar, Jai and Sam and to the coaches Cooper and Josh. Also, a BIG THANK YOU to our wonderful parent helpers who helped score and supervise the teams. The day wouldn’t have been possible without you.

Rowville Primary School Sporting Achievers

A huge congratulations to Ashton and Jordan who recently competed in the Little Athletics State Cross Country Championships at Lake Dewar. They both ran really well. Ashton finished 13th and Jordan finished 14th,  and they came 2nd as a team!

What a great achievement! Well done boys.

Nicholas from 3A, loves playing golf and usually plays about once a week at his local Pitch and Putt course. Recently Nicholas was awarded two trophies for winning ‘Nearest to the Pin’ and the ‘Lowest Score in the Under 10’s’.

Nicholas is always striving to improve and recently, in a tournament, achieved his Personal Best score of 69!

What a champion! Great work Nicholas. We wish you all the best and look forward to hearing more about your golfing pursuits in the future.
