Solemnity of the Assumption

Next Monday, 15 August, is the Solemnity of the Assumption, one of our Holy Days of Obligation within the Church. It celebrates our Mother Mary ‘falling asleep’ and passing over, body and soul, into the glory of her risen son.

The College will have Mass in the Chapel at 1:25 PM on Monday. All are welcome! You may also like to encourage your sons to attend even if you cannot make it.

St Patrick’s College Fathers’ Day Masses

All fathers in the College are invited to celebrate Mass with their sons in honour of Fathers’ Day on Friday 2 September. We will remember our heavenly Father and the relationship between Jesus and his earthly father, as we look into different models and examples of fatherhood. As per tradition, boys are allocated to a Mass to help with numbers and catering. This allocation alternates each year to allow for equity over the course of a boy’s schooling (i.e., Berg, Coghlan and Crichton at 7:45 AM this year, while Hanrahan, Hickey and Rice will be at 7:45 AM next year).

  • All boys in Berg, Coghlan and Crichton and their fathers and grandfathers are invited to Mass in the College Gym at 7:45 AM.

  • All boys in Hanrahan, Hickey and Rice and their fathers and grandfathers are invited to Mass in the College Gym at 9:30 AM.

An email invitation will be sent to all parents/carers today. We ask all those who wish to attend to complete the short form as an rsvp, which is necessary for our planning, by Monday 22 August at 4:00 PM.

We hope you can enjoy this special occasion with your son/s, especially after such a long gap since our last one. Let’s really celebrate the fathers and father figures in our lives.
