CHOIR

After our successful performances this year already, the College Choir and Showcase Chorale are nearing our busiest performance time of the year. Currently, both choirs are working towards the Queensland Catholic Colleges Music Festival that takes place on Saturday, 13 August. 

The Mount Alvernia choirs have not entered this competition since 2019, due to COVID-19, so we are very excited to have our choirs involved again. This week the College Choir performed on Assembly to mimic what it will be like at this competition to perform in front of a live audience, and to show the College our work. A couple of weeks ago, representatives from the choir joined with our other FoTH schools - Padua College and St Anthony’s - and sung at the Catholic Education Week Mass. This collaboration with the choirs will also be on show at our Franciscans on the Hill Choral Showcase occurring next term, about which we are all very excited. This will be an opportunity to really demonstrate how much work we have put in across the span of 2022.
