2022 CBCA Book Week

How exciting that we have reached that time again and will celebrate Book Week from Monday the 22nd to Friday the 26th of August. Please see our advertisement poster for the week below!

Author Visits

We will welcome three amazing authors to come and speak to our students next week.

Amy Adeney (Website), Judith Rossell (Website) and Morris Gleitzman (Website). Each of these authors will chat with the children about their experiences as well as talking about the process behind their craft. As experienced speakers they will also be prepared to answer the million questions our students will surely have!

Dress Up Parade

We will ask all students to get involved by dressing up in their best book related costume on Friday the 26th. Parents are invited to the Padua at 9.15 AM to come and watch each class parade their costumes.

Parents and younger siblings who come to watch are encouraged to dress up too!

Lamont Book Fair

Another genuine thank you to all parents for your support of our Lamont Book Fair! It was so brilliant to see students going through and selecting new titles to take home and launch into. As we have advertised, these sales directly support the school, whether we use the money to purchase brand new resources for our library or even book further Guest Speakers later in the year.

Writing Competition

Entries for our whole school writing competition will soon close. We have already seen some great entries which have been very entertaining to read! Students can enter as many times as they would like and there will be some great prizes presented for our winners. As a reminder the theme of the competition is Dreaming, and students can feel free to submit a story, poetry, comic strip or anything they can think of!

Wishing everyone a brilliant week ahead and we can't wait to see all of the costumes next Friday!
