From the Acting Assistant Principal
Dear Families,
What a busy term it has been. It has been lovely to have had an opportunity to work as Acting Assistant Principal. I have been able to venture into different classrooms and see the learning and thinking that has been carried out. Our teachers have once again packed a lot of learning and experiences into such a short term.
Student Reporting
As Bron has featured, Semester 1 Student Reports will be sent home shortly via Compass. As part of our reporting practices, samples of individual learning are intermittently shared with parents across the semester in real time, as well as providing the opportunity to discuss your child’s progress with class teachers as part of our Mid-Year Parent/Teacher Interviews. Parent/Teacher Interviews will be held in the second week of Term 3 from Monday, 17th to Friday, 21st July. Bookings will be open for these families in the first week back next term.
Playground behaviour
During this term, we have had several school tours. We have highlighted our school strengths in building relationships with our students and how we discuss and delve into working with our students when they have a concern or issue. At the forefront of these discussions are our values or norms of Be Safe, Be Fair, Be Kind. They are used right throughout the school and in classrooms. When we use them with our students, they can quickly identify which norm they need to reflect on.
The reason why I am highlighting our norms is that recently some of our play in the school yard has been less than desirable. We would appreciate if parents witnessed any pulling down, pushing or hitting at home with older or younger siblings that you discuss with your child the behaviour and use similar language about being safe, fair and kind.
Lost Scooter
Does this scooter belong to someone? Come to the office to collect if it does. The scooter was left on school grounds on Thursday or Friday last week.
Lastly. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Bron for all her assistance and support this term. Bron took the time to show me the role and it was a privilege working alongside her. Her care and dedication to all our students is exceptional. Thanks Bron!
