Music

In the Performing Arts department, where there's never a dull moment.

Our youngest performers in Prep have been trying their hand (and feet) at some new dances, and exploring the concept of community through our 'People in our Neighbourhood' project. Their enthusiasm is infectious, and it's been a joy guiding them on this journey.

The Year 1 and 2 students have stepped into the magical world of musical theatre, singing their hearts out to songs from 'Oliver' and Cole Porter's 'Anything Goes'. It's really been something watching them tackle these classics with such gusto.

Meanwhile, our Year 3-6 students have been showing off their vocal prowess with songs from the renowned Stephen Sondheim. Introducing the students to such sophisticated material and seeing them develop an appreciation for it has been incredibly rewarding.

In between all these activities, we haven't forgotten our Kodály rhythm reading lessons. And yes, there's the biennial concert preparation underway. Our students have been really giving it their all and I couldn't be prouder.

Kind regards,

Mr Jon Bode
