Prep

In Term 3 in Italian, the children learnt about the four seasons ‘Le Stagioni’ and the colours we associate with the seasons.  They enjoyed colouring in pictures of different seasons using the colours that remind them of that season.  The children are using great pronunciation when naming the colours in class activities and games.  They are also learning different weather expressions to use when describing the weather conditions. 

Junior Learning Community 

In Term 3  in Italian, the children also learnt about the four seasons ‘Le Stagioni’. The children learnt new vocabulary related to the seasons and the weather.  They showed their skills by using these expressions in class activities and games. The children labelled pictures with correct weather phrases and used excellent pronunciation when describing the daily weather conditions. The children are beginning to create their Weather Index Flipbook, where labelled each season, drew a picture to match the weather in that season and wrote a short description of the weather in Italian.  They also learnt a new song about the seasons. 

Middle and Senior School

In Italian this term, the children learnt about the weather and the seasons ‘ Le Stagioni’.  The children learnt vocabulary related to weather conditions and the seasons. They learnt the names of the months of the year and the months that make up the four seasons. The children were able to write short descriptions of the weather in various images presented to them. The children were given a weather map of Italy to study.  Their task was to answer questions on the various Italian cities from the weather indicators on the map.  Their reading skills and pronunciation are showing great improvement.
