Art

This semester students have been participating in a wide variety of activities using several different mediums.

Preps have completed guided drawings, concertina folded fish, an underwater oceanscape full of sea creatures, a snake weaving its way through long grass, primary coloured snails and a multimedia winter artwork.

JLC students have also been practising their folding skills by making single strip concertina folded fish and double strip concertina folded snakes. They have explored printmaking by creating monoprinted earth paintings, mark making with cardboard and fingers.

The Year 3/4 and Year 4/5/6 classes have explored the stylistic nature of Keith Haring’s human figures and created life sized Keith Haring figures and figures inside a box. Students have also completed a guided drawing of a cactus which they then needed to paint using colours they mixed to show tone, light or shadow. These works were also very stylised in that students could mix and use their own unique colours to produce an abstract artwork.
