Foundation

Swimming

During Week 7, the Foundation students travelled to Echuca each day to participate in the Learn to Swim Program. Students practised bubble breathing, swimming strokes, floating, kicking and water safety skills throughout the week. All the students had lots of fun and represented our school well. 

Foundation and Years 10 and 12 Mass

On Thursday 8th June, the Foundation students went to Parish Mass with their Year 12 buddies and the Year 10 students. The theme of the Mass was 'Oceans' as World Oceans Day is celebrated in June each year. The Year 12 students presented their Foundation buddies with ducks at the conclusion of the Mass to further enhance the theme. The Foundation and Year 12 students did an amazing job singing and doing the actions to the opening song "My Lighthouse". 

Farmer Darryl

On Tuesday 30th May, Farmer Darryl came to visit our Foundation students with his mobile farmyard. The students came dressed as farmers or farm animals and enjoyed lots of time patting, feeding and learning all about the farm animals. Farmer Darryl brought along sheep, goats, a calf, a baby deer, hens, roosters, baby chicks, ducks and even a rabbit. It was a great day!

Years 1 and 2

What a fabulous week we had swimming in Echuca last week! 

It was terrific to see the enthusiasm and confidence students demonstrated when participating in their lessons. The torpedos, sinky toys and pool noodles were certainly a hit!

Students have enjoyed writing about the fun they had at the pool. We hope you enjoy some of our writing below:

Bbrrrrr! It was freezing in the pool but it was fun. I loved it there very much. I have very much fun at the Echuca pool. I can nearly swim.

We are having an amazing time at the Echuca pool. I have learned so many new things. I love kicking. I love floating. My goggles are my favourite colour.

Splash! We are having fun. I swam so good. When I finish, I play down ball. We went on a bus back to school. It was fun. We get to go 5 days a week.

At swimming I did cannonballs. It was fun. I got sinkies. On the bus back to school our bus driver put music on. At home I told my Mum all about it. I love swimming.

I love swimming. I want to go every day. My favourite thing is noodles. I did backstroke. I kick my little legs. My goggles were a bit tight. The pool is the best. The pool was big.

At swimming I did a cannonball and backflip under water. And I did a front flip under water and kicking our legs. At swimming I got slinkies.

This week we have been swimming at the Echuca pool. My favourite day was safety day. I really love the pool. I like to do somersaults in the pool. Some activities were torpedo, sinkies, backstroke and freestyle.  We all love swimming because it is fun.

I love swimming sooooooo much. In the pool we learn to float on the water and swim on the water and jump in!
