ALL ABOARD! Foundation Excursion to Puffing Billy!

Last Wednesday, the Foundation students hopped aboard the Puffing Billy train for their very first excursion. Boarding at Belgrave, they learnt about the wonderful history of the local community place and explored the map of our journey. 

Along the way, we spotted lots of local attractions, natural landmarks, animals and birds. The students had so much fun looking out to see what was around.

When we arrived at Lakeside station, we set upon a tour of the museum centre and watched a small clip about the trains history. Students then had a chance to engage in some creative play learning experiences to expand on this knowledge. 

We then had a picnic lunch, and jumped back on the train to return to Belgrave station. The students enjoyed the excursion, with some highlights being the engine, smoke and colourful parrots we met at Lakeside. 

It was such a wonderful excursion. All foundation students carried themselves wonderfully and took pride in being an SJV member. We were extremely proud of their efforts on this day.
